NFL: Campbell Officially a Raven, Foles Headed to Windy City, Bouye Goes West

A trio of Jaguars are headed to new surrundings.

Baltimore has acquired Pro Bowl defensive lineman Calais Campbell, QB Nick Foles was traded to Chicago and cornerback A.J. Bouye is headed to the Broncos.

Baltimore sent a 2020 fifth-round pick, which came from the trade of Hayden Hurst to the Atlanta Falcons, to the Jaguars.

The Ravens also agreed in principle with Campbell on a one-year contract extension, pending the passing of a physical.

Jacksonville will receive a fourth-round pick in exchange for Foles.

Foles spent just one season in Jacksonville, interrupted almost immediately by a broken collarbone. He signed a big contract to be the franchise guy starting in 2019.

Fan fave Gardner Minshew happened and Foles is now headed North.

For just one season, the Jaguars paid $30.5 million to Foles, who leaves behind $18.75 million in dead money on the salary cap after the trade.

Foles led the Philadelphia Eagles to a victory in Super Bowl LII and then coming off the bench to help them to the playoffs again in 2018.

The 33-year-old Campbell has 88 sacks during his 12-year career, including a career-high 14 ½ sacks in 2017.

His 31½ sacks since 2017 are the seventh-most in the NFL over the past three seasons, and Campbell made the Pro Bowl in each of his three seasons with the Jaguars.

The 6-foot-8, 300-pounder started 90 straight games dating back to 2014.

Campbell is one the NFL’s most respected playes, the most recent winner of the NFL’s Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.

Bouye is headed to Denver in exchange for a fourth-round selection (No. 137 overall) in the 2020 NFL Draft.

“We respect and appreciate everything that A.J. did for the Jaguars during his three seasons with us. A.J.’s support of cancer awareness and his work with local families had a profound impact on our community, and we wish him the best moving forward.” said Jaguars General Manager Dave Caldwell.

Now that the trade has become official, the Jaguars have 10 picks in the 2020 NFL Draft (1-9, 1-20, 2-42, 3-73, 4-116, 4-137, 5-165, 6-189, 6-206, 7-223), including six selections in the first four rounds.

The Jaguars also have nine picks in the 2021 NFL Draft, including multiple picks in the first and fourth round.
