ECHL: Icemen End Two-Game Skid with 3-1 Win Over Solar Bears

JACKSONVILLE – Alexis D’Aoust scored his eighth goal of the season in the opening minute of the third period to give Jacksonville 3-1 win over Orlando Saturday night before a sellout crowd at Veterans Memorial Arena.

The win ended Jacksonville’s two game losing streak. On Friday night in South Carolina the Stingrays bested the Icmen 4-1.

Pierre-Luc Mercier and Luke Shiplo got the assists on D’Aoust’s eighth goal of the season.

The visitors averted a shutout when Taylor Cammarata scored on Adam Carlson. Tristin Langan and Chris LeBlanc picked up the assists.

With the Icemen shorthanded, Mercier scored his tenth goal of the season on a breakaway in the second period.

Carlson stopped shots 31 in the win. Orlando netminder Clint Windsor came into the game fourth in the ECHL with a .922 save percentage. He made 23 saves.

Emerson Clark’s empty netter made it 3-1 in the final minute of the game. It was Clark’s seventh goal of the season.

The Icemen will have a few days for the ECHL All-Star Break before battling the Solar Bears at the Amway Center on Thursday Jan. 23. The Icemen return home Jan. 30 for the first of two games against the Fort Wayne Komets.
