GAINSVILLE – Florida starting QB Feleipe Franks threw 15 consecutive completions to open the game that ended in a 45-0 rout of UT-Martin before 80,007 at Florida Field Saturday night.

Franks completed his first 15 passes for 183 yards and two TDs.

“He played pretty well. It was a pretty good night,” said Florida head coach Dan Mullen said. “Most people would take it, [but] I’m sure it’s Feleipe Franks [and] this is Florida. You play quarterback at Florida, they’ll be like, ‘I don’t know, we have a ways to go.’ He threw two incomplete passes.”

Van Jefferson had a 69-yard touchdown reception. Tyrie Cleveland added a 35-yard touchdown catch. Both came in the second quarter.

Florida finished with 543 total yards. The offensive onsluaght was on.

Malik Davis’ scored on a one-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Jacob Copeland’s nine -yard reception from Kyle Trask to open the fourth quarter was the first TD of his career.

Emory Jones had a 16-yard touchdown run.

Franks completed 25 of 27 passes for 270 yards.

“I haven’t seen any stats, but the only one that matters is that we didn’t score any points,” UT Martin coach Jason Simpson said. “I’ve played against multiple SEC teams in my career. There’s been bigger [SEC] teams, but I don’t know if there’s another as fast as that one.”

UF NOTES: The Gators may be without Kadarius Toney and CJ Henderson for an extended period of time due to injuries sustained during the first half……with his 32-yard field goal, Evan McPherson has now made 19 of his first 21 attempts….Florida extended its winning streak in home openers to a nation-leading 30 games….both UF reserve quarterbacks led touchdown drives in that final quarter.
