Icemen Announce Full 2019-2020 Regular Season Schedule

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Icemen have announced the team’s complete schedule for the 2019-2020 regular season.

In addition, the team announced two changes to the previously announced home schedule.

The Icemen will play a 72-game regular season schedule. The team will play a family friendly home schedule comprised of nine Wednesday games, two Thursday games, eight Friday games, 12 Saturday games and five Sunday afternoon contests.

All Wednesday, Thursday,  Friday and Saturday games will begin at 7 p.m. while Sunday afternoon games begin at 3:05 p.m.

The Nov. 14 game against Atlanta is slated for a 10:30 a.m. start time.

The team also announced two changes to its home schedule that was announced in May. The Wednesday, December 18 home game against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits will now be played on Saturday, March 28.

In addition, the Friday, March 27 home game against Greenville will now be played against the Cincinnati Cyclones.

The Icemen will open the 2019-2020 season at home on Saturday, Oct. 12 against Greenville.

In addition to featuring games with all South Division foes, the home schedule also includes several teams making their first appearances at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena as the North Division’s Adirondack Thunder and Worcester Railers, the Western Conference’s Indy Fuel, Fort Wayne Komets and Cincinnati Cyclones will all make trips to Jacksonville.

ICEMEN NOTES:  Jacksonville announced that the team has acquired forward Matt Pohlkamp from the Reading Royals and forward Jakob Reichert from the Adirondack Thunder.

Pohlkamp, 26, joins the Icemen after posting 35 points (21g, 14a) in 65 games played last season split between the South Carolina Stingrays and Reading Royals. The 6-0, 198-pound forward has totaled 82 career points (41g, 41a) in 144 career ECHL games from 2017-2019. The Baxter, Minnesota native recorded 88 points (38g, 50a) in four collegiate seasons at Bowling Green State University from 2013-2017.

Reichert, 25, registered 15 points (5g,10a) in 45 games played during his rookie campaign with Adirondack last season. The 6-5, 215-pound forward logged 11 points during his four seasons at Bowling Green from 2014-2018. Both Recihert and Pohlkamp played three collegiate seasons together at BGSU.

The acquisitions complete the terms of future considerations trade deals made with each team earlier in the season when the Icemen sent goaltender Austin Lotz to the Royals and traded forward Dylan Walchuk to the Thunder.
