ARENA NOTES: Jacksonville Sharks sign QB Mike Fafaul

JACKSONVILLE – Quarterback Mike Fafaul (6’2,1205) signs with the Jacksonville Sharks for his second season of arena football. In his rookie debut, Fafaul backed up Sharks First Team All-Decade Quarterback Tommy Grady last season. When he saw the field, he was 3-of-9 (33.33%) for 18 yards and one interception.

Fafaul attended UCLA and played for the Bruins in 2013, and 2015-2016. In his college career, he totaled 265 attempts, completing 141 of them for 1,670 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.

Fafaul is a native of Cockeysville, MD and attended Loyola Blakefield High School in Towson, MD. In his senior season, he was 121-of-202 (59.90%) for 1,803 yards, 22 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.

COACHES ADDED – Head coach Siaha Burley has added several new coaches to the staff for the upcoming season. Assistant Head Coach/Lineman Coach is Lee Johnson, Defensive Coordinator is James Fuller and Charlie Hunt has been named  Player Personnel / Special Teams Coach. Hunt started his Sharks career in 2011 and played all the way through the 2012 season and rejoined the Sharks in 2014. After a hiatus from the game,

Hunt returned for the 2017 championship season and stuck with the team for the 2018 season as well. Over his time at playing Jack Linebacker, Hunt won two championships with Jacksonville and earned First Team
All-NAL in 2017. In addition, he was named the NAL Defensive Player of the Year in 2017.

FAN DAY SET: The Jacksonville Sharks will be reserving the last day of the 2019 Sharks Training Camp for Fan Day which will also feature the team’s final training scrimmage before the season along with many fun events planned to take place on Sharks Fan Day. Jacksonville Sharks Fan Day is a public event for all Sharks fans young and old to come out to enjoy Sharks football by meeting the players, coaches, and Attack Dance Team. Fan Day is scheduled for Saturday, April 6th from 1: 30 to 3 p.m. at Ed White High School.

DANCE ATTACK:  Lisa Green will be named the new Attack Dance Team Coordinator for the 2019 season. Lisa is excited to be bringing with her Cayla Kurtz and Stephanie Hillin as Assistant Dance Coordinators.
