ECHL: Icemen Take 4-2 Road Loss at Florida Everblades

ESTERO – The Florida Everblades scored three unanswered goals in the third period to hand  Jacksonville (7-3) their second consecutive road loss of the week in a 4-2 win before 5,404 at Hertz Arena.

Dan DeSalvo opened the scoring for the Icemen. DeSalvo has recorded a point in his first three games. Playing shorthanded, Jacksonville’s Tyson Fawcett scored his first goal of the season.

Tanner Jaillet made 34 saves in the loss. Jamie Phillips picked up the win with  27 saves.

Adam Gilmour, John Wesley and Joe Cox all scored for Florida (4-3-2). Two of the goals game on power plays. Steven Lorentz added an empty netter.

The Icemen will look to bounce back tomorrow in Estero, their fourth game in five days. Florida continues to be troublesome for Jacksonville, as the Icemen have never beaten the ‘Blades in regulation in the history of the series.

Jacksonville returns home at 2 p.m. Monday to play the Norfolk Admirals (8-3) for the first time this season.
