ARENA: Undefeated Sharks Host High Country Grizzlies

JACKSONVILLE –  The (10-0) Jacksonville Sharks are just two wins away from a perfect regular season as they take on the (3-6) High Country Grizzlies at the Shark Tank on Saturday, June 10 at 7 p.m. for Christmas in June.

The Sharks remained undefeated last week during their game against the (0-7) Dayton Wolfpack. The Wolfpack came out strong, ready to make the Sharks prove that they’re the best in the league.

Even though the Sharks allowed Dayton to tie their record of most points scored in a single game, key players such as Derrick Ross and quarterback Damien Fleming made sure the Sharks offense overpowered Dayton. The Sharks pulled out a 77-32 win, landing their win streak in the double-digits.

The Grizzlies lost their latest game to the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks 67-52. The Grizzlies are now on a three-game losing streak. However, the Grizzlies have only won on the road this season, proving to be a stronger traveling team.

The Sharks last played the Grizzlies in Week 4 in High Country, where they won 68-21. The Grizzlies will be looking to claim back some dominance and beat the Sharks on home field just as it was done to them.

The Sharks will need to rely on Damien Fleming and his talented squad of receivers to drive them down the field into scoring range.

The Sharks defense should come into this game expecting a lot more from this High Country team since the last time they faced them.

SHARK BITES:  The National Arena League announced Sharks fullback Derrick Ross earned Offensive Player of the Week for his standout performance in Week 12 against the Dayton Wolfpack. Ross helped the Sharks to their best standing record in franchise history on Saturday night at the Shark Tank. Ross scored the first touchdown on the game and then went on to score three more touchdowns and rushed a total 92 yards for the Sharks….the Sharks signed quarterback Jason Boltus. Boltus (6’3”, 220) will join the 2017 roster after previously going into retirement after his time with the Tampa Bay Storm in 2016. After retiring from the Arena Football League, Boltus went on to become the head coach for the Ocoee Knights and led them to a state championship in 2017.
