PEARL, Miss. – The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (2-1) defeated the Mississippi Braves (1-2) by a 6-1 score in the third game of the five-game series at Trustmark Park on Saturday night.
Jacksonville starter Omar Bencomo (1-0) earned the win with five scoreless innings of work where he allowed three hits, walked a batter, and struck out four in his Marlins organization debut.

Mississippi starter Kolby Allard (0-1) took the loss in his Double-A debut, going five innings where he allowed two runs on six hits with no walks and five strikeouts.
After the Jumbo Shrimp scored a run in the fourth inning, Austin Dean provided a spark in the top of the fifth when he hit the first Jumbo Shrimp homer of the year, a solo shot to the left-center field berm to put Jacksonville in front 2-0.
The Jumbo Shrimp added to the lead with a Brian Anderson RBI single in the seventh inning that made it 3-0, and then later in the inning Yefri Perez scored on a Michael Mader wild pitch to make it 4-0 Jacksonville.
Alex Yarbrough added to the lead an inning later with a two-run triple to grow the lead to 6-0.
After Bencomo’s five scoreless innings to start the game, left-hander James Buckelew provided three scoreless innings of relief work. Buckelew also collected an infield single in his first professional at-bat in the seventh inning.
Mississippi added a run in the ninth with Reed Harper bringing in a run on a sacrifice fly off Shrimp reliever Tyler Kinley to put the score at 6-1.
Tyler Bremer came in to get the final out and did as Stephen Gaylor flew out to centerfield to end the game in a 6-1 Jacksonville victory.

Anderson and Dean both went 3-for-5 in the game in the first three-hit performances for any Jumbo Shrimp this season.
Tomorrow the Jumbo Shrimp will play game four of their five-game series against the Mississippi Braves at Trustmark Park at 2 p.m. ET.
Left-handed pitcher Mike Kickham (0-0, 0.00 ERA) will start for Jacksonville against Mississippi right-hander Matt Withrow (0-0, 0.00 ERA).
