When the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp take the field for their inaugural season at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville, a Jumbo Shrimp flavor will reach every corner of the ballpark. First Coast Concessions, LLC, will offer more than a dozen shrimp options on its new concession and catering menu, while adding items for a variety of dining preferences and enhancing classic ballpark fare for the Jumbo Shrimp home season opening Wednesday, April 12.

“When guests come for the Jumbo Shrimp, they will find plenty of ways to enjoy a unique flavor of the First Coast alongside traditional ballpark favorites,” said Jumbo Shrimp Director of Food & Beverage Ernest Hopkins. “Of course, you will still be able to get your beloved $2 hot dog at all Jumbo Shrimp Games this season, in addition to many other affordable culinary options for groups of all sizes and occasions.”

Here is a guide to the Jumbo Shrimp found at concession stands renamed before the 2016 season and specialty areas:

At “Southern Fried Free Bird” (third-base side of home plate) is Boom Boom Shrimp in a Waffle Bowl, popcorn shrimp nestled in a crispy waffle bowl, topped with green onions, and Coconut Torpedo Shrimp, which has a light, flaky coconut batter that lends crunch to tail-on fried torpedo shrimp. The stand will also have Shrimp and Grits, bite-sized portion cakes, made with shrimp, grits and bacon bursting with coastal flavor and topped with Mae Ploy. At “Sweet Tea-bow” (third-base side), guests can add shrimp to a personal pizza or any of three varieties of nachos.

“Singh for Your Sandwiches” (right-field line, formerly “Singh for Your Supper”) carries the Grilled Shrimp Po’ Boy with Cole Slaw, traditional sandwich restyled with fresh grilled Mayport shrimp and topped with cole slaw. “All-American Jax” (first-base side of home plate) has the Surf & Turf Burger, a half-pound burger topped with four Jumbo Shrimp, rested on grilled Texas Toast. At the Dog House Cart, they can get the Double Play, with sautéed shrimp and a hot dog on a foot-long bun.

In the Wheel House, the lounge renovated in 2016 and renamed by fans in February, guests can enjoy Peel-And-Eat Shrimp, JUMBOlaya, Shrimp Tacos, or the popcorn-style Boom Boom Shrimp. In the premium Dugout Box seating behind home plate – which includes wait staff service – guests may order Boom Boom Shrimp, the Surf & Turf Burger, or the Jumbo Shrimp Boil to share.

For groups in the Safe Harbor Seafood Palm Pavilion, the picnic menu will include Shrimp Dip. Additional shrimp items available in the Skybox luxury suites are Mayport Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Simply Delicious Shrimp & Spinach Pizza, Shrimp Nacho Bar, Shrimp Quesadillas, and Zingy Shrimp Grilled Cheese.

Hot dogs are just $2 each at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville for a second straight season. Other traditions, such as corn dogs, brats, sausage, hamburgers, chicken tenders, pizza, French fries, nachos, pretzels, peanuts, cracker jacks, popcorn and Uncle Ray’s Potato Chips will be throughout the ballpark.

Many of the classics will come in new editions, including the Enormous Shareable Pretzel, Nachos in a Souvenir Helmet, Chicken Bites in a Waffle Cone, Pork & Slaw Dog and the Philly Grilled Cheese, ground Philly steak made with peppers, onions and American cheese. “Sweet Tea-bow” will have the Philly Grilled Cheese and the breakout item among the ballpark fare, the Bold City Burger Pie, a grilled one-pound beef patty, covered with two slices of pepper jack cheese, and served between two eight-inch pepperoni pizzas. Sharing is recommended.

Added to the ballpark menu this season are Salad Shakers and Fresh Fruit Cups at concession stands. The “All-American Jax” stand will have a Grilled Marinated Chicken Sandwich, plus Kosher Hebrew National Franks that may also be ordered by guests in the Dugout Box. Assorted Wraps will be available at the “Grab and Go” stand.

New for 2017, Mr. Softee Ice Cream headlines the new lineup of sweets at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. Others include Brownies, Cookies, Candy, Churros, Funnel Cake Fries, Hippo Pops, Mini Melts, Sqwincher Sqweeze, King-Sized Candy Bars, Frozen Bananas, and Hot Cookie with Ic
