JU’s Misters Earns First All-Academic ASUN Honors in Program History

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – In a first for the Jacksonville University men’s basketball program, Andris Misters has been named to the ASUN Conference All-Academic team, as announced by the league office on Friday. He joins UNF’s Aaron Bodager on the prestigious list.

“Congrats to Andris for being the first Jacksonville men’s basketball player to earn an honor like this,” said Head Coach Tony Jasick. “His efforts both on and off the court embody the type of student-athlete we want at JU.”

Misters is currently earning his MBA with a cumulative GPA of 3.72. He’s got a career average of 8.7 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 1.3 asts/game, and 0.8 steals per game. He has a career total of 488 points and is averaging 42.9% from three this season.

The All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom and exemplify the ASUN’s mission of Building Winners for Life. All the members of the team boast a 3.30 cumulative grade point average or better and participated in at least half of their team’s games.
